Roof Opening Seal, Removing
-- Remove the front and rear glass panel. Refer to GLASS PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the roof opening seal -1- and warm it up if necessary using the Wiring Harness Repair Set - Hot Air Blower: VAS 1978/14A . Refer to COMPONENTS WITH ADHESIVE TAPE, INSTALLATION PREPARATION .
Installing
-- The procedures and guidelines for temperatures, minimum curing times, removing adhesive residue and cleaning must be observed. Remove adhesive residue and adhesive surfaces. Refer to COMPONENTS WITH ADHESIVE TAPE, INSTALLATION PREPARATION .
Risk of damaging the seal.
- Do not pull the seal.
-- Starting at the back, push the seal -1- in the roof center onto the body seam. While doing so, remove the adhesive strip protective film -2-.
- The seal joint must be at the rear in the center of the roof.
- Visual check (waves, sink marks in the radius area and seating of the seat on the roof outer panel)
-- Press on the seal twice using the Roller: T40400 on the roof edge with at least 50 N in the area of the adhesive tape -2-.
3 - Roof
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
-- Perform an adaptation. Refer to Sunroof Motor -V1-, PROGRAMMING .
