Hydraulic System, Post-Bleeding

The brake system is divided diagonally.

Only perform if the brake pedal travel is too long, or the so-called >>soft brake pedal<<.

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure

-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid up to the "max" mark (example photo).

-- Connect the : VAS5234  with : VAS5234/1A  (example photo).

-- Set the correct pressure on the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit. Refer to the Operating instructions from the : VAS 5234  .

TIP:

For certain tire combinations the removal of the wheels is required.

-- Remove the protective cap from the bleed screw on the brake caliper.

-- Connect the hose -1- on the container.

Bleeding Sequence 

1 -  Left Front Brake Caliper

2 -  Right Front Brake Caliper

3 -  Left Rear Brake Caliper

4 -  Right Rear Brake Caliper

-- Depress the brake pedal forcefully and hold.

-- Open the bleed screw on the brake caliper.

-- Press the brake pedal down until it stops.

-- Close the bleeder screw with the pedal depressed.

-- Release the brake pedal slowly.

-- Repeat the bleeding procedure in the specified sequence for the remaining brake calipers.

-- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid up to the "max" mark (example photo).

-- Screw down the reservoir.

CAUTION:

Faulty brakes increase the risk of an accident.

- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
