Glass Trim, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Open the glass panel.

-- Lower the headliner and place it on the seats. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEADLINER .

-- Push the sealing lip on the windshield cover profile with the cut out protection -1- from the Window Removal Set: VAS 861 001A  as far as possible downward -arrow-.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- for the glass trim.

-- Slightly lift the glass trim using the Wedge Set: T10383  .

-- Using the tool -1-, push through the Cutting Cord: VAS 861 001/1A  behind the right threaded pin on the glass trim and repeat.

-- Slightly lift the glass trim using the Wedge Set: T10383  .

-- Using the tool -1-, push through the Cutting Cord: VAS 861 001/1A  behind the threaded pin in the center of the glass trim and repeat.

-- Slightly lift the glass trim using the Wedge Set: T10383  .

-- Using the tool -1-, push through the Cutting Cord: VAS 861 001/1A  behind the left threaded pin on the glass trim -arrow- and repeat.

-- Guide the Cutting Cord: VAS 861 001/1A  around the glass trim and let both lower ends go over the glass trim.

-- Secure the removal tool with the reel device -1- on the left side and secure the Double Suction Lifter: V.A.G 1344  on the right side of the windshield.

-- Secure the left end of the cutting cord on the Double Suction Lifter: V.A.G 1344  and secure the right end on the cutting device.

-- Cut out the right half of the glass trim.

-- Secure the removal tool with the reel device -1- and Double Suction Lifter: V.A.G 1344  on the right side of the windshield.

-- Secure the left end of the cutting cord on the Double Suction Lifter: V.A.G 1344  and secure the right end on the cutting device.

-- Cut out the left half of the glass trim.

-- Remove the glass trim.
