Air Duct Pipe, Removing And Installing, With Radiator Removed 2.9L Engine: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• Replacing the seals after removal.
• Check the O-ring of the crankcase ventilation for damage. Refer to OVERVIEW - CRANKCASE VENTILATION .
• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Install the oil filter element. Refer to ENGINE OIL FILTER, REPLACING .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the air duct hose -1-.

-- Disconnect the connector and free up the wiring harness.

1. For Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 2 -G764-
2. For Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 1 -G763-

-- Remove the oil filter element. Refer to ENGINE OIL FILTER, REPLACING , and cover the opening with a clean cloth.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -2- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- Move the air duct pipe -1- to the side.

-- Free up the coolant line -2-.

Vehicles with Version 1 Charge Air System: 

-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 3- and remove the air duct hose.

Vehicles with Version 2 Charge Air System:

-- Remove the left front wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Remove the left air intake grille. Refer to Front Bumper .

-- Remove the left air guide. Refer to Overview - Lock Carrier .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31-.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the air duct pipe -1-.

-- Free up the wiring harness.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

-- Disconnect the connector and free up the wiring harness -2-.

4 -  For Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor -G71-

5 -  For the Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-

-- Remove the vacuum hose -6- and hose -3- for the crankcase ventilation to do so press the release buttons on both sides.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Pivot the air duct pipe -1- carefully to the left side and remove.

Installing 

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• Replacing the seals after removal.
• Check the O-ring of the crankcase ventilation for damage. Refer to OVERVIEW - CRANKCASE VENTILATION .
• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Install the oil filter element. Refer to ENGINE OIL FILTER, REPLACING .
