   • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Fig 4.
   • Replace after removing.

   • For the crankshaft on the transmission side
   • Replacing. Refer to CRANKSHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
3. Alignment Sleeve
   • Quantity: 2
4. Lower Timing Chain Cover
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Bank 2 Cylinder Head Gasket (Left)
6. Double Bolt
   • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
7. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
8. Nut
   • 9 Nm
9. Bracket
   • Depending on the version
10. Double Bolt
    • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
11. Cylinder Bank 2 Upper Timing Chain Cover (Left)
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to TIMING CHAIN GUARD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
12. Alignment Sleeve
    • Quantity: 2
13. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
14. Heat Shield
15. Exhaust Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-
    • Cylinder bank 2 (left): Exhaust Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 -N319-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER VALVES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
16. Seal
    • Replace after removing.
17. Alignment Sleeve
    • Quantity: 2
18. Cylinder Bank 1 Upper Timing Chain Cover (Right)
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to TIMING CHAIN GUARD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
19. Bolt
    • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
20. Seal
    • Replace after removing.
21. Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
    • Cylinder bank 2 (left) Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 -N208-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER VALVES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
22. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
23. Bank 1 Cylinder Head Gasket (Right)
24. Alignment Sleeve
    • Quantity: 2

-- Tighten the bolts -1 to 8- in the sequence shown to 9 Nm.

Depending on the Version, Aluminum or Steel Bolts May be Installed.

A - Steel Bolts:

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Tighten the bolts in stages as follows:

B - Aluminum Bolts:

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Tighten the bolts in stages as follows:
