Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Transmission Side
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Crankshaft Seal Installer Kit :T10122B
- Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal :T20143/2
Procedure
- The transmission is removed. Refer to the appropriate service information .
-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sensor wheel. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Pry out the seal using the :T20143/2 .
-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.
-- Place the :T10122/1 on the :T10122/6 and seal -A- with the closed side on the guide piece.
-- Remove the :T10122/1 .
-- Position the :T10122/6 on the crankshaft.
-- Using the bolts -arrows- from the :T10122/6 attach via the mounting point -A- on the crankshaft.
Risk of damaging by folding over the sealing lip when installing.
Oil leaks possible.
- Install the seal by hand.
-- Push the seal on the crankshaft by hand using the : T10122/6 .
-- Press the seal in evenly all around using the :T10122/5 .
-- Remove the :T10122/6 .
-- Check the seal as well as its sealing lip for correct seating. If the sealing lip is partially rolled back, repeat the procedure with a new seal.
-- Install the sensor wheel. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
