1. Transmission Side Crankshaft Seal
   • Replacing. Refer to CRANKSHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
2. Lower Timing Chain Cover
   • Removing and installing. Refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • Install with sealant. Refer to the Parts Information for the correct sealant.
3. Alignment Sleeve
4. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
5. Bolt
   • Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - VACUUM PUMP .
6. Vacuum Pump
   • For the brake booster
   • Removing and installing. Refer to VACUUM PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
7. Seal
   • For the vacuum pump
   • Installation instructions. Refer to OVERVIEW - VACUUM PUMP .
8. Cylinder Head Gasket
   • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - CYLINDER HEAD .
9. Seal
   • Replacing. Refer to UPPER TIMING CHAIN COVER SEAL, REPLACING .
10. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
11. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
12. Bracket
    • For the connectors
13. Bracket
14. Nut
    • 9 Nm
15. Double Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
16. Upper Timing Chain Cover
    • Removing and installing. Refer to UPPER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • Install with sealant. Refer to the Parts Information.
17. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing.
18. Sealing Sleeve
    • Replace after removing.
    • Installation position. Refer to The sealing sleeve must project the dimension -a- out of the contour of the lower timing chain cover. .
19. Alignment Sleeve
20. Bolt
    • Tightening specification -item- 20 .
21. Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
    • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM .

-- Tighten the bolts in the steps shown in the sequence:

• Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.
