Pressure Accumulator Pressure Relief Valve, Checking

Test Prerequisites

0.2 L/min (0.2 qt/min) at engine idle speed HYDRAULIC PUMP SUPPLY PRESSURE, CHECKING, 100 AND A6

Checking

-- Connect hose of tester Pressure Gauge:VAG1441  to hydraulic brake servo using banjo bolt and copper seals that come with tester.

-- Let engine idle until needle on gauge shows operating pressure over 140 bar (:2030  psi).

If this pressure is not reached, pressure relief valve is not OK.

-- Replace pressure accumulator.

-- Measure operating pressure again.

-- Reduce operating pressure by pumping brake pedal approx. 20 times with engine not running.

-- Remove tester Pressure Gauge:VAG1441  .

-- Install warning switch and check for leaks.

-- Check hydraulic fluid; top off if necessary.
