Spring, Removing And Installing, Air Spring: Removing
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Make sure that during the assembly work, no pressure points are created on the air suspension boot.
- If the air line is removed from a component, check if the cutting ring is seated on the air line.
-- Bleed the air suspension system. Refer to AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the drive axle from the rear final drive and tilt downward. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the connecting piece -arrow- from the rear air spring.
-- Seal both connections.
-- Release the catches in direction of -arrows- and free up the air spring -3- on the lower transverse link -1-.
-- Remove the air spring downward.
