Overview - Cylinder Block, Transmission Side: Notes

- Alignment Sleeves
- Transmission Side Sealing Flange
- With gasket
- Replace after removing
- Removing and Installing. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
- Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth
- The guide sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft journal.
- Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Drive Plate
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Versions with a manual transmission must have a needle bearing inside the drive plate; if necessary install the needle bearing. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
- For the version with a dual-clutch transmission, a needle bearing may not be installed inside the crankshaft. Remove the needle bearing if necessary. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
- Bolt
- 60 Nm +90°
- Replace after removing
- Needle Bearing
- For version with manual transmission
- Replacing. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING .
- Intermediate Plate
- Be careful not to damage or bend when installing
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Fig 3.
Transmission Side Sealing Flange - Tightening Specifications and Sequence
-- Tighten the bolts -1 to 8- in stages in the sequence shown.
