Coil Springs: Installing

-- Compress new spring with spring compressor:VAG1752/1  and spring holders :VAG1752/5  .

• Note color coding (arrow)

-- Pull shock absorber shaft out of shock absorber to stop.

-- Install coil spring along with spring compressor onto lower spring retainer.

• Color coding on spring faces toward lower spring retainer.
• End of spring coil rests against spring retainer stop.

-- Install upper spring retainer with washer on coil spring so that end of spring coil rests against stop on washer.

-- Install washer on shock absorber shaft.

-- Install shock absorber shaft nut and tighten using with torque wrench and Special Wrench 22mm:3078  .

Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ft lb) 

-- Release tension on spring.

-- Remove spring compressor.

-- Install boot in upper spring retainer.
