Airbag II Assembly Overview
- Triggering Unit
- Removing and installing, refer to Triggering Unit .
- Steering Wheel with Airbag Unit
- Removing and installing, refer to STEERING WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Removing and installing with airbag sport steering wheel, refer to SPORT STEERING WHEEL WITH AIRBAG ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
- Always set airbag unit down with horn pad facing UP.
- Connector for Airbag Spiral Spring
- Location, refer to Airbag Spiral Spring Connector .
- Airbag spiral spring, removing and installing, refer to AIRBAG SPIRAL SPRING .
- Airbag spiral spring, checking, refer to AIRBAG SPIRAL SPRING, CHECKING .
- Airbag spiral spring with sport steering wheel, removing and installing, refer to AIRBAG SPORT STEERING WHEEL SPIRAL SPRING .
- Airbag Power Supply Connector
- Installed position, refer to Airbag Power Supply Connector .CAUTION:
- Airbag power supply connector must always be disconnected before working on the airbag or related systems.
- Connector remains connected when using scan tool:VAG1551 .
- Installed position, refer to Airbag Power Supply Connector .
- Passenger Side Airbag Unit
- Assembly, removing and installing, refer to PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
- Ground (GND) Connection
- Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
- Refer to appropriate wiring diagram for location.
- Data Link Connector (DLC)
- Located above electronic box.
