Stabilizer Bar, Removing And Installing, Versions With Sway Stabilization: Removing
-- Versions with air suspension: determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .
There Is a Risk of Injury If the Sway Stabilization Makes Unintended Adjustments
- Only work on the sway stabilization with the ignition switched off.
-- De-energize the 48 Volt system. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the rear wheels. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the right diagonal brace. Refer to DIAGONAL BRACES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the left rear wheel housing liner in the rear area and push forward. Refer to OVERVIEW - REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Remove the nut -arrow- and free up the sway stabilization ground wire.
-- Disconnect the connectors -arrows- for the Sway Stabilization Control Module 2 -J1096-.
There Is a Risk of Malfunction from Corrosion in the Connector.
- When removing and installing the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization the wiring harness may not be removed from the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization. The connector must not be removed from the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization.
- The connector may only be disconnected from the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization if a damaged wiring harness must be replaced.
- To ensure a proper seal, the connector may only be connected and tightened once.
-- Carefully cut the cable ties to free up the sway stabilization wiring harness on the subframe.
-- Place the : VAS281001 under the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization.
-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- and the nut -2-.
-- Remove the bolt -3- and lower the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization slightly.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the bracket and remove the stabilizer bar with sway stabilization.
