Undamaged Rear Window, Removing, Security

Required Tools and Materials for Removal and Installation. Refer to REQUIRED TOOLS AND MATERIALS FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

-- Remove the rear lid upper trim panel. Refer to REAR LID UPPER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear window wiper motor with the grommet. Refer to REAR WINDOW WIPER MOTOR -V12-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - SPOILER .

-- Remove the side spoiler. Refer to SIDE SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connectors and secure to the window glass using adhesive tape -arrows-.

-- Equipment versions with power rear lid opener: remove the fuse for the Rear Lid Drive Unit -VX69- or Rear Lid Drive Unit 2 -VX77-. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.

CAUTION:

Risk of injury to the hands and eyes from glass fragments.

Getting cut is possible.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Wear safety gloves.

-- Wrap the cutting cord -1- around a handle for example Bonded Window Tool Kit - Pull Handle:V.A.G 1351/1 , -2-.

-- Cut free in the upper area of the rear window.

-- Secure the top of the rear window with adhesive tape.

-- Completely cut free the rear window.

-- Lift the rear window with two suction lifters from the vehicle.
