SUBFRAME Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive and tie it up. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Disconnect the left and right connector -arrow- for the rear level control system sensor and free up the wire.

Final Drive 0D3 "quattro sport" :

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, and remove the bracket -1- from the rear final drive.

-- Label and disconnect the connectors -2- for the oil pressure/temperature sensor and at the clutch valves.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- at the All-Wheel Drive Pump -V415-.

-- Unclip the wiring harness -3- from the final drive -item 5, 6 and 7- and tie it up.

Final Drive 0B0 "quattro ultra" :

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the wiring guide from the final drive and free up the wire.

Equipment Versions with SCR System:

-- Free up the SCR delivery line.

-- Remove the left and right bolt -arrow-, and free up the bracket -1- with the wires.

-- Secure the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, SECURING .

-- Lower the subframe a total of a maximum of 100 mm.

-- Mark the installation position of the bonded rubber bushing on the subframe -arrows-, for example with a felt-tip pen.

-- If necessary, the support -arrow- with the small inner diameter must be removed from the Hydraulic Press:VAS 6178 and the Pressure Head:T10205/13 must be installed for it.

WARNING:

There is a risk of injury from falling components.

Hold the Hydraulic Press:VAS 6178 firmly while pressing out.
When pressing off, the bonded rubber bushing loosens abruptly from the subframe. Use, for example, the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931 to secure.
