Front Upper Transverse Link, Removing And Installing: Removing

Before starting work:

-- Versions with coil springs: determine the curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT POSITION, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .

-- Versions with air suspension: determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .

-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

Left Front Upper Transverse Link for Vehicles without a High-Voltage System:

-- Place the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support:T10337  on the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931  and position it at the bottom of the subframe.

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

  • Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is under the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Remove the left front bolt -arrow- for the subframe.

-- Lower the subframe a maximum of 15 mm.

Right front Upper Transverse Link, All Vehicles / Left Front Upper Transverse Link, Vehicles with a High-Voltage System

-- Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive and tie it up. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Secure the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, SECURING .

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

  • Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is under the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

Final Drive 0D3 "quattro sport" :

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-, and remove the bracket -1- from the rear final drive.

-- Label and disconnect the connectors -2- for the oil pressure/temperature sensor and at the clutch valves.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- at the All-Wheel Drive Pump -V415-.

-- Unclip the wiring harness -3- from the final drive -item 5, 6 and 7- and tie it up.

Final Drive 0B0 "quattro ultra" :

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.

-- Remove the wiring guide from the final drive and free up the wire.

-- Equipped on some models: disconnect the left and right connector -arrow- for the rear level control system sensor and free up the wire.

-- Lower the rear subframe slightly and push toward the rear slightly.

-- Remove the threaded connections -1, 2, 3 and 5-, and remove the upper transverse link -4-.
