Luggage Compartment Side Trim Panel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Fold the rear seat backrests forward.

-- Unclip the cover -1- using the Trim Removal Wedge :3409  -arrows-.

-- Remove the side cushion. Refer to SIDE CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If installed, remove the luggage compartment roll cover.

-- Remove the tie-downs. Refer to TIE DOWN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the lock carrier trim panel. Refer to LOCK CARRIER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicle without a high-voltage system

-- If equipped, remove the rail. Refer to RAIL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the gap cover -1- upward -arrow-.

Vehicles with a high-voltage system

-- If possible, move the rear seat into the most forward position and fold the backrest forward.

-- Remove the expanding rivets -1- with a Pry Lever :80-200  .

-- Unclip the front luggage compartment floor -2- from the respective luggage compartment side trim panel -arrow A-.

-- Unclip the front luggage compartment floor upward -B arrows- and push slightly to the side.

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Pull the backrest release lever.

-- Pry off the cap -1- with a screwdriver.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- behind it.

-- Turn the quick release -1- 90° counter-clockwise and pivot the service cover inward.

-- If installed, disconnect the socket connector.

-- Remove the service cover -2- upward from the luggage compartment side trim panel -arrow-.

-- Free up the luggage compartment side trim panel in the area of the rear lid seal.

-- Starting at the top, unclip the luggage compartment side trim panel -1- from the body and trim panels -arrow A- through -arrow C-.

-- Pull the luggage compartment side trim panel slightly inward.

-- If installed, disconnect the connectors.

-- Disengage the backrest release cable. Disengage the release cable bracket -2- -arrow- to do this.

-- Tilt the release cable and disengage the end of the cable -1- from the backrest release lever.

-- Disengage and remove the luggage compartment side trim panel.
