Control Module, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH .
-- Install the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -- as follows:
- Replace the O-rings -1- and -2-.
- Coat the o-ring with ATF.
- The flattened driver -3- must be guided into the groove on the actuator shaft -4-.
-- Tighten the bolts -arrows-.
-- Connect the connector -3- to the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -- -4-.
-- Secure the cable to the all-wheel drive clutch -arrow-.
-- If equipped, secure the heat shield -2- with the bolts -1-.
-- If equipped, install driveshaft heat shield -1-.
If the control module was replaced:
- If the AWD Control Module -J492- was replaced then additional work is now necessary. Refer to ADDITIONAL WORK FOR VEHICLES WITH "quattro ultra" .
