Tower Brace With Additional Reinforcement, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Engine Control Module -J623- from the bracket and set aside. Refer to ENGINE/MOTOR CONTROL MODULE -J623-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING or ENGINE CONTROL MODULE - Servicing 3.0L .

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and push the bracket -1- for the engine control module slightly forward.

-- Unclip the left and right cover from the bulkhead. Refer to OVERVIEW - BULKHEAD .

-- Remove the Terminal 30 Wire Junction -TV2- from the bulkhead and push it slightly forward. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - RELAY PANELS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 2.0L or AIR FILTER - Servicing 3.0L .

-- Versions with TDI engine: remove the nuts -arrows- and set the bracket -1- for the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- to the side.

-- Equipped on some models: disconnect the connector -1- for the Structure-Borne Sound Actuator -R214-.

-- If installed, release the catches with a screwdriver -arrow- and remove the bracket -1- for the relay and control module and set aside.

-- Remove the bolts -1, 3 and 4-. Remove the tower brace -2- with the additional reinforcement and the plenum chamber end plate.
