Mounting Bracket, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Manual Transmission: Installing

NOTE:

Clean the bolts and nuts before reusing.

Replace the damaged bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.

Replace the self-locking bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE PEDAL .

NOTE:

If possible, leave the brake pedal stop -17- installed; it could break the mount for the brake lamp switch -10- if the brake pedal is released too quickly.

Make sure the seal on the clutch master cylinder is seated properly before inserting the mounting bracket.

-- Install the mounting bracket into the guides in the vehicle.

Guide the clutch master cylinder through the opening on the mounting bracket while slightly turning it to the right so that the cylinder mount fits through mounting bracket.

NOTE:

Clean the bolts and nuts before reusing.

Replace the damaged bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.

Replace the self-locking bolts and nuts. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Install the nuts on the mounting bracket guides and secure it.

-- Install the bolts from the brake booster -1- to the mounting bracket and tighten them.

NOTE:

First install the bolts from the brake booster to the mounting bracket and tighten them.

-- Tighten the nuts -16- on the mounting bracket guides.

-- Install clutch master cylinder. Refer to the appropriate service information

-- Install over-center spring. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Connect the connector to the accelerator pedal module.

-- BRAKE PEDAL, ATTACHING TO BRAKE BOOSTER .

-- Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install cover for brake fluid reservoir.

-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
