Direct Transmission MECHATRONIC -J743-, Removing And Installing: Removing
Danger of causing damage to the transmission.
- Do not run engine or tow vehicle with transmission fluid pan removed or without transmission fluid.
Follow the rules for clean working conditions. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
General repair instructions. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
-- Remove the ATF pan. Refer to OIL PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove bolts -arrows - and remove transmission fluid pump cover -A-.
Danger of destroying the Mechatronic unit.
- If the transmission fluid pump cover is not removed, the long sensor arm will be damaged when removing the Mechatronic.
-- Loosen and remove the bolts in the following sequence: -1 to 10-.
There is a risk of damaging the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- with electrostatic electricity.
- Do not touch contacts in the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- connector with hands.
-- To discharge electrostatic, touch vehicle ground with hand (without glove).
-- Carefully pull the Mechatronic out of the transmission housing until the long sensor arm is no longer located within the transmission housing.
-- Carefully pivot out the Mechatronic rearward.
Risk of damaging Mechatronic.
- Ensure tabs on sensor arm do not break off.
-- Store Mechatronic properly.
Risk of damaging Mechatronic.
- Do not lift Mechatronic by "sensor arm" or lay it on arm.
If sensor arm is damaged, Mechatronic must be replaced.
