Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Removing

- Follow the safety precautions when working on the exhaust system. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON EXHAUST SYSTEM .
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Loosen the clamping sleeve -2- bolts, and leave the clamping sleeve in the installation position.
-- Open and remove the clamp -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -3-, push the clamping sleeve -2- rearward and remove the exhaust pipe -A-.
-- Remove the nuts -1-, and loosen the bolts -2- a quarter turn.
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the coolant line bolts -arrows-, and pull the coolant line forward.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3-, open the clamp -2- and remove.
-- Carefully remove the catalytic converter.
