Headliner, Removing And Installing: Removing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
-- Remove the A-pillar upper trim panels. Refer to A-PILLAR UPPER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TT COUPE .
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panels. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the front roof module. Refer to FRONT INTERIOR LAMP/READING LAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Equipped on some models: remove the front camera cover. Refer to Interior Rearview Mirror with Optional Equipment: .
-- Remove the vanity mirror illumination. Refer to DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER VANITY MIRROR LAMP -W20- / -W14-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sun visors. Refer to SUN VISOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the sun visor center support. Refer to SUN VISOR CENTER SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fold the rear seat backrest forward.
- The headliner bends easily.
- Replace the headliner if it is bent.
-- Unclip the front headliner -1- at the clamps from the body in direction of -arrow-.
-- Unclip the rear headliner -1- at the clips and the centering pin from the body in direction of -arrows- using the : 80-200 .
-- Unclip the side of the headliner -1- with the : 80-200 at the clips -2- with the hooks from the body until the first catch in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Repeat the process on the opposite side.
-- Pull the headliner toward the rear in direction of -arrow B- to disengage the clips with the hooks. The clamps will slide out of the mounting point on the body.
-- Move the front seats into the deepest and most forward position and position the backrest as far toward the front as it will go.
-- Lower the headliner -1- on the left side of the vehicle and at the same time turn carefully 90 degrees to the left in direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the headliner -1- carefully through the rear lid opening in direction of -arrow-, as shown in the illustration.
-- To do this carefully guide the headliner at the edges through the rear lid opening.
