Glove Compartment, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM .

-- Remove the front passenger instrument panel side cover. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL SIDE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the footwell lamp. Refer to LEFT AND RIGHT FOOTWELL LAMP -W9- / -W10-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the glove compartment lamp. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT LAMP -W6-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Open the glove compartment cover and remove the screws -arrows-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damage the wires.

Proceed carefully when removing, do not lower the glove compartment too hard.

-- Carefully remove the glove compartment -1- until the connector can be disconnected.

-- Disconnect the connectors.

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by briefly touching the door striker pin, for example.

-- Remove the connector lock -3- -arrow- and disconnect the connector -2-.
