- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting a connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Secure the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture: VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Release the retainer -1- and disengage the control module -2- from the storage compartment in direction of -arrow-.
-- Remove the storage compartment. Refer to OWNER'S MANUAL, FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND STORAGE COMPARTMENT BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the modular wiring routing. Refer to FRONT SEAT WIRE ROUTING .
-- Open the corrugated tube and free up the wire.
-- Remove the nut -arrow- and free up the wire.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1, 2 and 3-.
-- Unclip and free up the wiring harness from the seat pan.
-- Remove the seat cover with seat cushion for the seat pan. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If necessary, separate the seat cover from the seat cushion. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, SEPARATING .
