Seat Pan Frame, Replacing, Manual Front Seat: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker pin, for example.

CAUTION:

Move the front seat to the highest possible position. This reduces the spring force when removing and installing the seat height adjuster.

-- Move the front seat all the way forward and raise it as high as possible. Then lower it one stroke.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat pan cover and cushion. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Remove the wiring and components and install in the new seat pan.

-- Front passenger seat: disconnect the connector -2- and unclip the mount -1- from the seat pan -arrows- and remove with the passenger occupant detection sensor -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and unclip the seat position sensor -1- from the seat pan lower frame -3- -arrow- and disengage.

-- Remove the front seat belt latch. Refer to FRONT SEAT BELT LATCH, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment lever. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat forward/back adjuster release cable. Refer to SEAT FORWARD/BACK ADJUSTER RELEASE CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat rail cover. Refer to SEAT RAIL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipment level with storage compartment: remove the storage compartment. Refer to OWNER'S MANUAL, FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND STORAGE COMPARTMENT BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Super Sport seat: remove the seat angle adjuster handle/lever. Refer to SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT HANDLE/LEVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Super Sport seat: remove the seat depth adjuster. Refer to SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the wiring harness and individual wires from the seat pan.
