Backrest Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Sport Seat: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SPORT SEAT .

-- Remove the tunnel-side seat side trim. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat side trim on the side sill side. Refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON SIDE SILL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Equipped on some models: free up the wiring harness for the backrest heating, airbag and lumbar support motor on the seat frame. Refer to FRONT SEAT WIRE ROUTING .

-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the trim -1- for the backrest release on both sides alternating from side to side -arrow- using the :3409 .

-- Guide out the pull strap and remove the trim.

-- Detach the side molding -1- from the backrest frame.

-- Detach the top molding -2- from the backrest frame.

-- Remove the clips -arrows- on the backrest frame with the :80-200 .

-- Detach the lower molding -1- from the backrest frame.

-- Disengage the molding -2- on the bracket on the backrest frame.

WARNING:

-- Release the connector lock -2- with a small screwdriver -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- on the thorax airbag igniter.

-- Carefully pull the cover with the cushion near the thorax airbag as far forward as possible.

-- Remove the bolt -4-.

-- Disengage the thorax airbag -1- with the hooks -2- from the backrest frame -3- and remove.

-- Loosen the cover -1- with cushion -2- from the backrest frame and remove carefully under the backrest forward in direction of -arrows-.

-- Versions with release button: release the wire clip -1- on the headrest guide, reach by hand behind the cushion and press down the release button -2- on the headrest guide in direction of -arrow A-, and remove the headrest from the catch at the same time.

-- Versions without release button: release the wire clip -4- on the headrest guide with a screwdriver in direction of -arrow B-.

-- Remove the headrest with the cushion and cover -3- upward from the backrest frame in direction of -arrow C-.

-- Loosen the cushion and cover from the backrest frame and remove upward, if necessary remove the wiring harness for the backrest heating.
