Transmission Fluid Pan, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the air filter housing:
- TFSI. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNTC, CYFB] or AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DAZA, DNWA] .
- TDI. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and remove the front bracket from the transmission fluid pan.
-- Turn the twist lock counter-clockwise -arrow- to disconnect the connector -1- for the Dual-Clutch Transmission Mechatronic -J743-.
Risk of Destroying Due to Electrostatic Charge.
- Do not touch the connector terminals.
- Touch a grounded object (for example the hoist) and discharge any static electricity.
Vehicles with 1.8L/2.0L TFSI Engine:
-- If installed, loosen the hose clamps -1 and 2- and remove the air duct hose.
All Vehicles:
-- Place the : SMN372500 underneath.
-- Loosen the bolts -arrows- diagonally.
-- Remove the transmission fluid pan -A- with the transmission fluid pan gasket. While doing so, allow the transmission fluid remaining in the transmission fluid pan to drain into the : SMN372500 .
