Overview - Cylinder Head

Cylinder Head Gasket
- Perform the adaptation after replacing using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester 01 - Engine electronics, functions , 01 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation
- Replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Note the installation position: the part number faces the cylinder head
- Install with sealant. Refer to the Parts Information.

- 15 Nm
Seal
- Replace after removing.
Alignment Pin
Cylinder Head
- Removing and Installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Must rest on the alignment sleeves
- Checking for distortion. Refer to Fig 3.
- Cylinder Head Reworking Dimension. Refer to Fig 4
- Only replace the cylinder head and camshaft housing together
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
- Perform the adaptation after removing or replacing using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester 01 - Engine electronics, functions , 01 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation

- 20 Nm

- Replace after removing.
- Loosening in the opposite sequence. Refer to Removing - Loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts in the sequence -19 to 1-. .
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.

- Replace after removing.
- Loosening in the opposite sequence. Refer to Removing - Loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts in the sequence -19 to 1-. .
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn after removing them.

-- Tighten the bolts in the steps shown in the sequence:

Step	Bolts	Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1.	-1 to 12-	60 Nm
2.	-1 to 12-	180° additional turn
3.	-13 to 19-	8 Nm
4.	-13 to 19-	90° additional turn

-- Check the cylinder head at several locations for distortion using a : VAS6075 and a feeler gauge.

Maximum permissible distortion: 0.04 mm.

Resurfacing cylinder head (face lapping) is only permissible to minimum dimension -a-.

Minimum dimension -a- = 139.30 mm.
