Hinges, Removing And Installing, With Pedestrian Protection
- Follow the safety precautions. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Hinge
- The removal is performed the same as a vehicle without pedestrian protection. Refer to HINGES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, WITHOUT PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION .
- Pedestrian Protection Trigger 1 -G598-
- Removing
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

There is a risk of injury.
- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Disconnect the connector and unclip at the side from the hinge.
-- Remove the nut -3- and remove the Pedestrian Protection Trigger 1 -G598- from the mounting pins.
- Installing WARNING:
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
There is a risk of injury.
- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Push the Pedestrian Protection Trigger 1 -G598- onto the pins on the hood hinge and then tighten the nuts.
-- Tighten the nuts to the tightening specification.

There is a risk of injury.
- The ignition must be on when connecting the battery.
- There must not be anyone in the vehicle interior when connecting the battery.
-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
NOTE:If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault after assembling, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
