Gas-Filled Strut, Removing And Installing

1. Gas-Filled Strut
   • Removing 

     -- Remove the side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

     -- Disengage the locking spring -arrows- at the ball sockets and remove the gas-filled strut from the ball pin.

   • Installing 
     CAUTION:

     Replace the locking springs after removing the gas-filled strut.

     -- The gas-filled strut may only be installed at the ball sockets onto the ball pins, refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

2. Ball Pin
   • 21 Nm
3. Ball Pin Bracket

-- Remove the locking spring from the ball socket in direction of arrow after removing the gas-filled strut.

-- Install the new locking spring into the ball socket.
