Continue if the valve timing is correct:
-- Remove the Diesel Injection Pump Locking Pin: 3359 and Crankshaft Lock: T10490 .
-- Turn the crankshaft two turns in direction of engine rotation until the crankshaft is just before "TDC" again.
-- Check the valve timing again. Refer to Valve Timing, Checking: .
There is a risk of damaging the camshaft if handled incorrectly.
- Never use the camshaft positioning tool as a counterholder.
-- If the camshaft carrier can now be secured, tighten the camshaft toothed belt sprocket bolt -1- to the final tightening specification by removing the Diesel Injection Pump Locking Pin: 3359 and counterholding the camshaft toothed belt sprocket with the Counterhold - Multiple Use: T10172A and Camshaft Lock: T10172/11 .
-- Tighten the nut -2- for the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket to the final tightening specification using the Counterhold - Camshaft Gear: T10051 . Refer to OVERVIEW - HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
-- Check the valve timing again. Refer to Valve Timing, Checking: .
Assembling
The rest of the assembly is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- Replace the seals.
-- Tighten the bolt -1-.
-- Install the lower toothed belt guard. Refer to LOWER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to UPPER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
