Rear Flexible Disc, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Sealing rings in driveshaft flanges -arrow- must not be damaged when removing and installing.
Replace the driveshaft if it is damaged.
Do not tip rear driveshaft tube, push horizontally onto centering pins.
Install all driveshaft parts marked in relation to each other in same position when reinstalling.
- Depending on the version different heat shields -1- are installed.
- The heat shield -1- points in the direction of the driveshaft.
- The three protruding sleeves of the flexible disc engage in the driveshaft flange.
-- Attach the flexible disc to the driveshaft tube -arrows-. Tightening specification OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT .
-- Install driveshaft on final drive so that both markings -arrows- align.
-- Attach the driveshaft with flexible disc to the rear final drive -arrows-. Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT .
Install the center bearing free of tension as follows:
- All driveshaft bolts are tightened.
-- Align the intermediate bearing in its elongated holes so the driveshaft or bearing is not under stress.
-- Tighten the combi-bolt -1-. The combi-bolts -1- must lie inside the four heat shield centering tabs -2-. Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT .
-- Install the exhaust system and align it without tension. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 01.2018), OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation III, As Of 12.2017), or OVERVIEW - MUFFLER (2.0L 4V TFSI Engine; EA 888 Generation II, As of 09.2016) .
