Overview - Brake Booster/Master Brake Cylinder

NOTE:
Use only new brake fluid.
- Brake Fluid Reservoir
- Refer to BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Pull on the securing pin -3- to remove.
- Cap with Brake Fluid Level Terminal
- Locking Pin
- Slide it through the brake fluid reservoir and the master brake cylinder.
- The locking pin must be pushed into the brake fluid reservoir.
- Brake Booster
- Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER BALL HEAD, ADJUSTING
- If malfunctioning: replace as complete unit.
- With adhesive seal
- Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Function Test
- With engine switched off, depress brake pedal firmly several times (to exhaust the vacuum in the unit).
- Depress and hold brake pedal with average foot pressure and start engine. If brake booster is working properly, pedal will be felt to give noticeably under foot (booster assistance becomes effective).
- Mounting Bracket Bolt
- 20 Nm.
- Brake Lamp Switch -F-
- Bracket with Brake Pedal
- Bracket Bolt
- 23 Nm
- Nut for Master Brake Cylinder Nut, Self-Locking
- 49 Nm
- Brake Line
- 16 Nm
- Brake Line
- 16 Nm
- Seal
- Replace
- Brake Master Cylinder
- Cannot be serviced. Replace as complete unit if malfunctioning.
- Refer to BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Sealing Plug
- Moisten with brake fluid and press into brake fluid reservoir
