Overview - Brake Booster/Master Brake Cylinder

NOTE:

Use only new brake fluid.

  1. Brake Fluid Reservoir
  2. Cap with Brake Fluid Level Terminal
  3. Locking Pin
    • Slide it through the brake fluid reservoir and the master brake cylinder.
    • The locking pin must be pushed into the brake fluid reservoir.
  4. Brake Booster
    • Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER BALL HEAD, ADJUSTING 
    • If malfunctioning: replace as complete unit.
    • With adhesive seal
    • Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 

      Function Test

      • With engine switched off, depress brake pedal firmly several times (to exhaust the vacuum in the unit).
      • Depress and hold brake pedal with average foot pressure and start engine. If brake booster is working properly, pedal will be felt to give noticeably under foot (booster assistance becomes effective).
  5. Mounting Bracket Bolt
    • 20 Nm.
  6. Brake Lamp Switch -F-

    Refer to Brake Lamp Switch -F-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

  7. Bracket with Brake Pedal
  8. Bracket Bolt
    • 23 Nm
  9. Nut for Master Brake Cylinder Nut, Self-Locking
    • 49 Nm
  10. Brake Line
    • 16 Nm
  11. Brake Line
    • 16 Nm
  12. Seal
    • Replace
  13. Brake Master Cylinder
  14. Sealing Plug
    • Moisten with brake fluid and press into brake fluid reservoir
