Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead, refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right front mufflers, refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 -G108-, refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 2 -G108 - / OXYGEN SENSOR AFTER THREE WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER -G130-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Ignore -items 2 and 4-.

-- Remove the connector -1- for the Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter -G130- item -3- from the bracket and disconnect it. Free up the wire.

-- Remove the bolt -2- from the suspended mount for the catalytic converter on the left side in the vehicle.

The illustration shows the installed position by a DSG transmission 0B5.

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- from the suspended mount on the right side in the vehicle.

Catalytic Converter for Cylinder Bank 2:

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the right heat shield -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the right drive axle heat shield.

-- Release the locking mechanism in direction of -arrows-, and free up the wires to disconnect and remove the connectors from one another and out of the mount:

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the cylinder bank 1 (right) and then remove the catalytic converter in the left of the vehicle, toward the rear.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- from the cylinder bank 2 (left) and then remove the catalytic converter on the right in the vehicle, toward the rear.

-- First remove the catalytic converter on the left side of the vehicle and then remove the catalytic converter on the right side.
