Clutch Module Overview

NOTE:

Service the clutch module -2-. Refer to Description and Operation .

  1. A - Alignment Pins
    • Not equipped for all vehicles; completely omitted from approximately September 2007
    • The alignment pins -A- (if equipped) must lock in the hole -B- when attaching the clutch module -2- to the drive plate -1-.
  2. B - Alignment Bore
    • The alignment pins -A- (if equipped) must lock in the hole -B- when attaching the clutch module -2- to the drive plate -1-.
      CAUTION:

      The clutch will not function properly if it is not installed correctly.

      • The clutch may have noticeable function problems if the alignment pins for the drive plate -A- are not inside the hole in the clutch module -B-.
  3. 1 - Drive Plate
    • On 4-cylinder engines - 3 holes with threaded sleeves
    • With 6- and 8-cylinder engines - 6 holes with threaded sleeves
    • With needle bearing
    • Removing and installing, refer to the appropriate service information
  4. 2 - Clutch Module
  5. 3 - Bolt
    • 60 Nm
    • For mounting the dual flywheel to the drive plate
    • Quantity: three on a 4-cylinder engine
    • Quantity: 6 with 6- and 8-cylinder engines
    • Always replace.
    • Follow the tightening sequence, refer to CLUTCH MODULE TO DRIVE PLATE, TIGHTENING SEQUENCE .
