Power Steering Pump Assembly Overview

NOTE:

Always Replace Seals.

Do Not Reuse Fluid You Have Drained.

Only Use Hydraulic Fluid.

Bracket
Sleeve
- Drive the sleeve back slightly to install the power steering pump.
Bolt
- 25 Nm
Bolt
- Tightening Specification. Refer to appropriate service information, see RIBBED BELT [FOR 3.2L ENGINES CALA], REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AND / OR RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING , RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR TRANSMISSION(S) 0B6] [FOR ENGINE(S) CAUA (4.2L)] .
Intake Hose
- The "P" marking on the evacuation hose -arrow- must align with the formed seam -arrow- on the power steering pump.
Clamp
- Tension using Hose Clip Pliers:VAG1275A
- Always replace if removed
Union Nut
- 38 Nm
Seal
- Always replace if removed
Pressure Line
CAUTION:
- Insert The Pressure Line Completely When Installing.
- Note the installation position: the angle between the line connection and the power steering pump axle must be approximately 88°.
- Depending On The Version, Also Mounted To The A/C Compressor
Bolt
- 25 Nm
Belt Pulley
- Different versions: with and without a hole for counter-holding with a Wrench - Pin Type:3212
- Depending on the version, use either a Wrench - Pin Type:3212 or Counterhold - Kit - Multiple Use:T10172 with Counterhold - Kit - Adapter 5:T10172/5 .
Power Steering Pump
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information..
- Fill with Hydraulic Fluid before installing
- Delivery pressure, checking. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, CHECKING DELIVERY PRESSURE, 6-CYLINDER DIESEL ENGINE, VEHICLES WITH AND WITHOUT DYNAMIC STEERING .
- Removing and installing. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 6-CYLINDER DIESEL ENGINE, VEHICLES WITH DYNAMIC STEERING .
- Bleed the steering. Refer to STEERING, BLEEDING AFTER REPLACING .
- Check hydraulic fluid level. Refer to POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .
- Steering System, checking for leaks. Refer to STEERING, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .

- 25 Nm
