Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 3.0L TFSI And 3.2L FSI Engine: Removing

-- With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer To BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the noise insulation -1- and -2-. Refer To NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

With Manual/Multitronic Transmission:

-- Remove The Plenum Chamber Bulkhead. Refer To PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING / OVERVIEW - PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD .

-- Remove The Right Front Muffler. Refer To EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, DISCONNECTING [FOR ENGINE(S) CAED, CAEB, CPMB, CPMA] , FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR TRANSMISSION(S) 0B6] [FOR ENGINE(S) CAUA] , FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR ENGINE(S) CAED, CAEB, CPMB, CPMA] and FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR ENGINE(S) CALA] .

-- Remove The Nuts -Arrows- And Bolt -1- And Press The Right Catalytic Converter To The Right Side.

-- Remove the right engine mount. Refer To RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [FOR TRANSMISSION(S) 0B6] [FOR ENGINE(S) CAUA] .

-- Remove The Nut -1- And Free Up The Ground Wire On The Right Engine Support.

-- Remove The Bolts -Arrows- And The Right Engine Support.

-- Disconnect The Connector -3- By Sliding The Retainer Back And Pressing The Release Down.

-- Disconnect The Wire -2- From The Starter.

-- Remove The Bolts -1- And -4- And Remove The Starter.
