Pistons, Removing And Installing: Removing

- Engine is secured to the :VAS6095A . Refer to ENGINE, SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
-- Remove the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Mark the installed position to which the connecting rod bearing cap, cylinder and the connecting rod it belongs for installing again later. Refer to INSTALLED POSITION OF PISTON AND PISTON/CYLINDER ALLOCATION and/or CONNECTING ROD, INSTALLED LOCATION .
-- Remove the connecting rod bearing cap.
-- Remove the piston and connecting rod upward.
NOTE:
Warm the piston to approximately 60 °C (140 °F) if it is difficult to move the piston pin.
-- Remove the locking ring from the eye of the piston pin.
-- Remove the piston pin using the :VW222A .
