Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Engine Sling :2024A
- Engine and Gearbox Bracket VAS6095A :VAS6095A with Engine/Transmission Holder - Universal Mounting :VAS6095/1 and Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 FSI Bracket :VAS6095/1-5
- Shop Crane :VAS6100
- Lift Arm Extension :VAS6101
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on :VAS6131B . Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
- Engine secured with :VAS6131/13-7 .
-- Remove the ribbed belt from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, ACCESSORY RIBBED BELT .
-- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR .
There is the risk of an accident.
- The engine may be transported only in the manner described and without the transmission.
-- Engage the :2024A on the engine lifting eyes and on the :VAS6100 with :VAS6101 as shown in the illustration.
To be aligned to the center of gravity of the engine assembly, the hole rails of the lifting hook must be inserted as shown in the illustration.
There is the risk of an accident.
- Lifting hooks and alignment pins on the engine sling must be secured with locating pins -arrows-.
-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.
-- If equipped remove the left and right connectors -2- from the electrohydraulic engine mount solenoid valve from the bracket and disconnect.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove the bracket with the wiring harness from the subframe.
The installation position with the engine installed is shown in the illustration.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- from the engine mount.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Remove the :VAS6131/13-7 from the engine.
-- Raise engine from engine carrier.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the left engine support with the A/C compressor bracket.
-- Remove the nut -1- and free up the Ground (GND) wire at the engine support.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the right engine support.
-- Secure the starter on the engine.
-- Tighten the engine with the :VAS6095/1 and :VAS6095/1-5 on the :VAS6095A to 40 Nm as shown in the illustration.
