Tightening Specifications
-- Replace the O-ring seals depending on the version. Refer to the Parts information.
-- Clean the connection on the expansion valve -B- and on the inner heater core -D- and inspect them for damage.
-- Thoroughly clean the refrigerant lines around the connection area and check for damage.
-- Insert the O-ring seals -A and C- into the groove on the inner heat exchanger connection.
Coat the O-ring seals with refrigerant oil prior to installation. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
Check O-ring seals for proper seating in groove -arrow- of the respective refrigerant line.
Following attachment, check routing of refrigerant lines. They must be inserted in holders provided and not make contact with other components.
-- Insert the inner heat exchanger on the expansion valve.
-- Tighten the bolts -E-.
-- Attach the refrigerant lines to the inner heat exchanger. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES WITH INNER HEAT EXCHANGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
On vehicles with a high voltage system (hybrid vehicles):
- Install the refrigerant line from the shut-off valve 1. Refer to Hybrid Battery Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve 1 -N516- REFRIGERANT LINE, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM .
- Install the front refrigerant line to the battery cooling module. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES TO FRONT OF VEHICLE REAR END ON UNDERBODY (VEHICLE FLOOR), REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM .
-- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to appropriate service information. .
-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING OPERATION AFTER FILLING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
Read the information for starting the A/C system after installing the A/C compressor. .
-- Check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and erase any displayed entries using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
