Tightening Specifications

-- Replace the O-ring seals depending on the version. Refer to the Parts information.

-- Install the O-ring seals -B and F- on the connection pipes -C and E- to the evaporator.

NOTE:

The expansion valve is available in different versions (same housing but a different control characteristic). Allocation. Refer to the Parts information.

Inspect the refrigerant pipes leading to the evaporator for debris and damage.

Coat O-rings with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .

Check O-ring seals for proper seating on evaporator connecting pipes.

If the heat protection insulation -2- is missing or not installed correctly, it can cause reduced output of the A/C system (change of the set control characteristic due to radiant heat).

-- The retaining plate -D- must be positioned on the connection pipes as shown in the illustration.

-- Insert the expansion valve -A- on the evaporator.

-- Tighten the bolts -G-.

-- Install the inner heat exchanger. Refer to INNER HEAT EXCHANGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Operate the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING OPERATION AFTER FILLING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

NOTE:

Read the information for starting the A/C system after installing the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, GENERAL INFORMATION .

-- Check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and erase any displayed entries using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
