Section 79 (Engine Cooling System (H4DOTC)): Radiator: Removal

CAUTION: The radiator is pressurized when the engine and radiator are hot. Wait until engine and radiator cool down before working on the radiator.

Remove the collector cover.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the under cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Under Cover. >
Remove the heat shield cover from radiator.

Drain engine coolant. < Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant. >
Disconnect the connector (A) from the main fan motor and the connector (B) from the sub fan motor.

Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.

Disconnect the ATF hoses from ATF pipes.
NOTE: Plug the ATF pipe to prevent ATF from leaking.

Lower the vehicle.
Remove the air intake duct. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct. >
Remove the reservoir tank. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Reservoir Tank. >
Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.

Disconnect the two engine coolant hoses from the radiator.

Remove the radiator upper brackets.

Move the radiator to the left while lifting it upward.
Lift the radiator up and remove the radiator from vehicle.
Remove the radiator lower cushion from the radiator lower bracket.
