Oil Pan, Removing And Installing: Removing
Clean working conditions for the automatic transmission, refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
General repair instructions, refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
Follow all safety precautions, refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Remove the noise insulations -1 and 2-, refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the cable from the crossbraces -1 and 2-.
The suspension components could be damaged.
Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
Do not support the vehicle on the subframe or on the subframe crossbrace (for example using a floor jack or something similar).
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the subframe crossbrace.
-- Mount the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support T10337 on the Engine and Gearbox Jack VAS6931 and attach it under the transmission.
-- Raise the transmission slightly.
There is the risk of an accident.
- The Engine and Gearbox Jack VAS6931 may only be used during assembly and must not sit unsupervised under the vehicle.
-- Remove the transmission support with the rear transmission mount, refer to TRANSMISSION SUPPORT WITH TRANSMISSION MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the ATF, refer to ATF, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the bolts from the ATF pan in the sequence -12 through 1-.
-- Remove the ATF oil pan.
