Center Differential, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the center differential housing O-ring.

If the center differential -1- was removed:

-- Position the center differential on the input shaft splines, while slightly rotating the center differential.

-- Make sure the center differential can be turned by hand.

-- Place the housing with the transmission output shaft installed and the new O-ring onto the center differential. If needed, turn the housing slightly.

-- Tighten the center differential housing bolts, refer to Figure.

-- Install tunnel crossmember, refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the propshaft, refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install and adjust exhaust system making sure it is not under stress, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CAEB, CPMB and CPMA, EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CPUC, or EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CTUC.

-- Fill gear oil in transfer case, refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING .
