Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan: Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

NOTE:
  • Replace the seal.
  • Replace the ATF pan bolts.
  • With high mileage vehicles, replace the ATF strainer when the ATF pan is removed. Refer to ATF STRAINER . Otherwise the ATF strainer must be replaced only if it is damaged.

-- Clean all magnets in the ATF oil pan. Make sure the magnets are in full contact with the ATF oil pan.

-- Clean the sealing surface from all sealant residue.

-- Install the T40199 in locations -10, 11, 12, and 13- with the ATF pan removed.

NOTE:

The T40199 center the gasket and the ATF oil pan. This will make sure the ATF oil pan seals correctly.

-- Install the new gasket and ATF oil pan over the T40199.

-- Tighten the new ATF oil pan bolts in the following sequence: -1 to 9-.

-- Remove the T40199.

-- Install the remaining bolts in sequence -10, 11, 12, and 13-.

-- Install the subframe crossbrace. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the transmission support with transmission mount. Refer to TRANSMISSION SUPPORT WITH TRANSMISSION MOUNT

-- Install tunnel crossmember. Refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER .

-- Fill the ATF. Refer to ATF, DRAINING OR FILLING AFTER REPAIR .
