Overview - Muffler, Vehicles With Engine Code CDUD

- Y pipe
- Original equipment as one unit with rear mufflers.
- in case of repairs, Y pipe, rear muffler and tailpipe should be replaced individually
- Separating point between Y pipe and rear muffler, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Rear Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with Y pipe
- in case of repairs, Y pipe, rear muffler and tailpipe should be replaced individually
- Separating point between Y pipe and rear muffler, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- separating point between the rear muffler and the tailpipe, refer to TAIL PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Seal
- Replace
- Particulate Filter
- with catalytic converter
- Removing and installing, refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH ENGINE CODE CDUD .
- After replacing, perform an Adaptation in Guided Functions =>
- Nut
- Replace
- Coat the thread with hot bolt paste .
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm
- Seal
- Replace
- Turbocharger
- Nut
- Replace
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm
- Front clamping sleeve
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Installed position Fig 2
- Tighten threaded connections evenly.
- Nut
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm
- Front exhaust pipe
- With decoupling element, decoupling element must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it may be damaged
- Protect from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and installing, refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH ENGINE CODES CDUD, CTBA AND CTBC .
- Install exhaust system with separating point free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm
- Tail Pipe
- Replacing, refer to TAIL PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Suspended Mount
- Replace if damaged
- Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Nut
- Tightening specification: 20 Nm
- Rear Clamping Sleeve
- For individual replacement of Y pipe and rear mufflers
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Installed position Fig 3
- Tighten threaded connections evenly.
- Nut
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm

- Tightening specification: 23 Nm

- Suspended Mount

- Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
-- Install the clamping sleeve so that the ends of the bolt do not extend beyond the lower edge of the clamping sleeve.
- Threaded connection point left
-- Install double clamps so that the bolt ends do not project over lower edge of double clamp.
- Installed position: the threaded connectors face forward.
