Muffler Assembly, Assembly Overview, Non-Hybrid Vehicles With Engine Code CDZA

Center Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with rear muffler. For repairs, replace each separately
- Separating point, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Bolt
- Tightening Specification: 23 Nm
Suspended Mount
- Replace if damaged.
- Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Front Muffler
- With a flex joint
  CAUTION:
  Danger of damaging the decoupling element.
  - Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10°.
  - Do not load decoupling element on cable.
  - Do not damage wire mesh at decoupling element.
- Removing and installing, refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, NON-HYBRID VEHICLES .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Seal
- Replacing
Front clamping sleeve
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Installed position Figure
- Tighten bolts evenly
Nut
- Tightening Specification: 23 Nm
Clamp
- Tightening Specification: 25 Nm
Tail Pipe
- For repairs, replace each separately, refer to TAIL PIPES, REPLACING .
- separating point between the rear muffler and the tailpipe, refer to TAIL PIPES, REPLACING
Suspended Mount
- Replace if damaged.
- Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Bolt
- Tightening Specification: 23 Nm
Rear Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately
- Separating point, refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS, SEPARATING .
- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
Rear Clamping Sleeve
- Before tightening, align exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- Installed position Figure
- Tighten bolts evenly
Nut
- Tightening Specification: 23 Nm
Bolt
- Tightening Specification: 23 Nm
Suspended Mount
- Replace if damaged.
- Check pretension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
