Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove drive axle, refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Insert both of upper control arm joint pins -2- in the wheel bearing housing and insert the bolt -1-.
This step is necessary to avoid damage to suspension components when loosening and tightening the cap screws.
-- Remove brake caliper and secure it to the body so that the weight of the brake caliper does not stress or damage the brake hose or brake line, refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the brake rotor.
-- Remove the front speed sensor, refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - ABS/ESP , see -item 10- and -item 14- .
-- Remove the cap screws -arrows-.
-- Remove wheel bearing unit.
- Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.
The wheel bearing -1- must always face up.
-- Always set the wheel bearing unit down on the wheel hub -2-.
-- Service the wheel bearing unit, refer to WHEEL BEARING UNIT, SERVICING .
