Power Steering Pump, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With Dynamic Steering: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Replace the gaskets and seals.

Before installing the new power steering pump on the intake side, fill the Hydraulic Fluid and install it by hand until oil drains out on the high pressure side.

Secure all hose connections with new hose clamps, refer to parts.

If the cable ties, brackets or mounting elements were removed during the repair procedure, they must be installed at their original location.

-- Note the installation position of the intake hose on the power steering pump.

-- Note the installation dimension of the clamp. Dimension -a- must be 4 mm.

-- Turn the hub by hand until oil runs out of the pressure side.

-- Insert the power steering pump in the bracket.

-- First install the front bolts -1- (quantity: 2) loosely.

-- Then install the rear bolt -3- loosely.

-- First tighten the bolts -1- and then the bolt -3-.

-- Press the pressure line into the power steering pump as far as the stop. Then tighten the union nut -1-.

-- Connect the connector -2-.

-- Clean oiled places in engine compartment.

Installing the power steering pump ribbed belt, refer to Only remove the ribbed belt from the power steering pump belt pulley, refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, NON-HYBRID VEHICLES WITH ALL ENGINE CODES EXCEPT CDZA for CAEB, CPMA, CPMB, or RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HYBRID VEHICLES WITH THE ENGINE CODE EXCEPT CDZA for CHJA .

-- Install the air guide hose.

-- Check power steering fluid level, refer to POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING .

-- Bleed the steering, refer to STEERING, BLEEDING AFTER REPLACING .

-- Check the steering for leaks, refer to STEERING, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .

-- Install the noise insulation, refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Install the ribbed belt and check the ribbed belt alignment, refer to Only remove the ribbed belt from the power steering pump belt pulley, refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, NON-HYBRID VEHICLES WITH ALL ENGINE CODES EXCEPT CDZA for CAEB, CPMA, CPMB, or RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HYBRID VEHICLES WITH THE ENGINE CODE EXCEPT CDZA for CHJA .

NOTE:

When installing ribbed belt, ensure it is correctly seated in ribbed belt pulley.

  1. Vibration damper
  2. Idler Roller
  3. Ribbed belt tensioner
  4. Generator
  5. Power Steering Pump
  6. A/C Compressor

-- Start the engine and check the belt routing.
